Club News
A mini league is now in place for younger members in addition to the points table.
Nicholas Johnson leads the points table on 9 points, Andrew Pickerill is 2nd on 8 points and Sam Lachmann, 3rd,
on 6 points. Congratulations to the 2007 Club Award winners last month. National Silver medallist,
Nicholas Johnson was player of the year and Laura Tuck won "most improved" award.
Andrew Pickerill won the points table trophy with 29 points and Nicholas Johnson won the points table runner up trophy
with 18 points.
Tickets for GB Judo World Cup at NIA, Birmingham on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st September should be available
this month. See Ros who will pre-book block of tickets at concessional rates for 1 or 2 days so club members sit
together. Families and groups can travel and arrange accommodation independently.
Welcome to the Soham judo course participants who recently joined Littleport.
Another course will start in September 2008 so do encourage friends to sign up.
A reminder that Coach and official education course fees are subsidised by the Awards for All grant to be spent
before September 2008 so please let Ros or Ray know if you are interested in gaining coaching or official qualifications.

Promotions, Competition News & Results
In February, Daniel Tuck was promoted to 10th mon, Laura Tuck to 3rd kyu and Andrew Pickerill and Mitchell Garner converted
from junior to senior grades with Andrew being awarded 3rd kyu and Mitchell, 2nd kyu.
During March, Andrew Pickerill placed 5th and Nicholas Johnson won Silver at the North West Area Under 20 Age Bands.
Sam Lachmann won a Bronze medal at the East Area Mini Mon. 7 members, Peter Grainger-Brown, Bradley Inskip, Sam Lachmann, Finn Livingston,
Tamzyn and Zac Perkins-Jones, and Harry Welchman won Bronze medals at the Littleport Under 12 Closed. Andrew Pickerill was 7th at
the Rouen International in France. Nicholas Johnson won a Silver medal and Andrew Pickerill won a Bronze medal at the British Schools
Nationals both representing Soham Village College.
Please note the club hosts the annual Littleport Age Banded tournament on Sunday 6th July in the main hall for 8 to 15 year olds
from East Area and invited clubs. Entry forms are available on club nights, are on the area website and will shortly be on the club website.

if you are available.
BJA LICENCE COST INCREASE FROM 1ST MARCH 2008
Junior new is £21 and renewal, £20. Senior new is £32 and renewal, £31.
Players without a valid licence are not insured so should not participate.
New members must obtain licence within 6 weeks of first visit.
