Congratulations to the following award winners at the 2010 Club Awards on Tuesday 14th December:
Junior player of the year - Noah Aldous, Senior player of the year - Adam Pickerill, Most Improved Junior - Abby Murdoch, Most Improved Senior - Nicholas Johnson. The Points Table is based on competition success. Winner - Noah Aldous, 13 points and Runner up - Connor Rainey, 8 points.
There will be a 1 week closure for Easter as there is no judo on 26th April 2011.
The 8 week "Judo Introduction" course for students in years 6 to 13 continues until 1st March at Littleport Leisure Centre on Tuesdays from 5.30pm to 6.30pm so please encourage friends to sign up.
Thanks to those who attended the recent AGM. Your committee members are Ray Taylor (Chair), Ros Edwards (Secretary), Laura Tuck (Treasurer), Dan Welchman (Welfare Officer), and Tony Johnson.
Stuart Aldous is club representative at East Cambs Sports Development Meetings held in May each year.
COMPETITION NEWS, RESULTS AND PROMOTIONS
There have been no competitions since the December newsletter but forthcoming events are listed in this newsletter. There is a 2011 Points Table, linked to competition results, 1 point is awarded to members entering a competition, extra points for 5th place or higher and awards for the top 2 at the year end.
FEBRUARY: Junior – Red belts - Adam Davey-Bradstreet to 1st mon, Keira Murdoch to 3rd mon.
Yellow belts - Noah Aldous and Ryan Turner to 4th mon, Luke Davey Bradstreet to 5th mon.
Orange belts- Chelsea Harben to 8th mon.
Ros or Ray continually assess members and advise them when they meet all requirements to progress to next level. Fee (7 pounds) is payable to register new grade and next exam sheets will be sent after 8th March.
LITTLEPORT MINI AGE BANDS INVITATION COMPETITION - SUNDAY 6th MARCH 2011
This is the next club hosted competition and all 8 to 11 year old members are encouraged to enter. Members do not have to pay any competition entry fees. Any assistance to lay mats or prepare hall on the Saturday or to officiate, sell raffle tickets, floor-walk or clear up on the Sunday is very much appreciated. Please notify Ray or Ros if you are available. Additionally, this will be a good opportunity for members over 10 years old and parents to learn how to table official so speak to Ros if you are interested.
A reminder that Coach, Referee and Table Official course fees can be subsidised by various grants.

ANDREW PICKERILL won a BRONZE medal at Heart of England Championships at Birmingham on 05 September 2010.
NOAH ALDOUS won a GOLD medal and LUCY STEVENS and JORDAN CAMBRON won BRONZE medals at East Area Closed on 23 May 2010.

Club members can also collect information and entry forms from the dojo on club nights.
Club members and parents are encouraged to support events and everyone is invited to assist in any capacity.
Please inform Ray or Ros if you are available as an official or in another voluntary capacity.
NO LICENCE – NO JUDO
Players without a valid judo licence are not insured so should not participate. New members should apply for a judo licence after 4 weeks and current members must ensure their licence is in date.
A "full" licence is required but can be a 4 month "Pay as you throw" licence or a 1 year licence.
