2008 Club Awards Winners:

Junior Player of the Year - FINN LIVINGSTON, Most Improved Junior Member - PETER GRANGER-BROWN
Senior Player of the Year - ANDREW PICKERILL, Most Improved Senior Member - MARK KATHRO

Points Table Winner - ANDREW PICKERILL, 27 points. Runner-Up - NICHOLAS JOHNSON, 23 points.

Tickets for GB Judo World Cup at NIA, Birmingham on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th September 2009 now available.
BJA Members can obtain concessional rate tickets at £9 per adult per day and £5 per child, (U16), per day.
Ring the Ticket Factory before 31 May 2009 on 0844 338 8000 quoting 'MATSIDE' to obtain these rates.

A reminder that Coach, Referee and Table Official course fees can be subsidised by various grants.

Promotions, Competition News & Results

NICHOLAS JOHNSON won a GOLD medal at the Peterborough Championships on 26th April 2009.
ANDREW PICKERILL won a GOLD medal at the Midland Area Age Bands on 1st February 2009.
ANDREW PICKERILL was seventh in the British Under 20 Trials in Sheffield on 10th January 2009.
At East Area Age Band competition on 14th December 2008
SAM LACHMANN won SILVER and FINN LIVINGSTON won BRONZE in the 8 to 11 year old section.
EGOR GNETOV won SILVER & BRONZE medals at 2 weights, NICHOLAS JOHNSON won BRONZE in the 12 to 15 year old section.
ANDREW PICKERILL won a BRONZE medal in Individual Senior section and GOLD as a Cambridgeshire Junior team member.

December 2008 Promotions included Jamie Moulding and Charlie Smith to 1st mon, Peter Granger-Brown to 2nd mon, Finn Livingston to 4th mon and Sam Lachmann to 5th mon.

Please note the club now aims to host 3 competitions a year in the main hall at Littleport Leisure Centre

AGE BANDED INVITATION on Sunday 05 July 2009 for 8 to 11 and 12 to 15 year olds.
YOUTH & SENIOR 'POINT SCORING' OPEN (WITH DAN GRADING) on Sunday 29 November 2009.
MINI AGE BANDS INVITATION on Sunday 28 February 2010 for 8 & 9 and 10 & 11 year olds.
AGE BANDED INVITATION on Sunday 04 July 2010 for 8 to 11 and 12 to 15 year olds.

Entry forms are available on the events page of this website as well as East Area and BJA websites.
Club members can also collect information and entry forms from the dojo on club nights.
Club members and parents are encouraged to support events and everyone is invited to assist in any capacity.
Please inform Ray or Ros if you are available as an official or in another voluntary capacity.

BJA LICENCE COST EFFECTIVE FROM 1ST MARCH 2008

Junior new is £21 and renewal, £20. Senior new is £32 and renewal, £31. Players without a valid licence are not insured so should not participate. New members must obtain licence within 4 weeks of first visit.
